ROLE OVERVIEW
Croud is recruiting a Senior Media Strategist (Sales) to help develop, coordinate, and lead media strategy across key pitches for Croud in New York. Sales is at the frontlines of bringing forward our incredible work, product, and proposition to our new and future clients. Ensuring that we translate all of the work we’re doing in the strategy, media, and data teams into engaging stories that address and overcome challenges within the digital performance marketplace.
We’re looking for an individual with subject matter expertise, that has worked within strategy and planning or hands on keyboard performance media, that now wants to apply their knowledge to the front lines - pitching for new business.
This role will be the key connective tissue between sales, media, and strategy. This role will be to work with the new business leads and strategy leads, translate their thinking into actionable media strategies that address the brief. Improving our process and win rate.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As Senior Media Strategist (Sales) there is no such thing as a typical day as you will constantly be challenged to build strategy, tell new stories, and bring new thinking.
Media Knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest capabilities, beta tests, & new offerings from our media partners to bring those exciting opportunities into pitches
Understanding the brief: Dissecting the brief, questioning everything and ultimately understanding what the prospect needs to grow their business
Strategy: The connective tissue between sales and media teams, understanding the brief in relation to our product & capabilities to create the media strategy that coincides with the overarching pitch strategy, custom for each brand we encounter
Deck Creation: Translating the challenge into an engaging, actionable and authoritative story that is clear and easy to understand for brands
New Business: You’ll wear a media strategy hat, but sit within the new business team, your work will be at the forefront of how we position Croud to our future clients
Pitch Innovation: Facilitating effective brainstorming and ideation sessions to spur growth, turning ideas into actionable programs and/or products for Croud
Examples will include:
Work closely with new business teams to identify leads that are a good match for Croud, can we solve their challenge? Is that our area of expertise? Have we asked the right questions?
Identify and communicate effectively with internal team members. A great team player will do well in this role. Can you use internal collaboration as a way of surfacing the best from each team and bringing that to the new business process
Lead various components of media strategy within a pitch setting (e.g., positioning, audience, platforms, budgets, forecasting).
Pitch the strategies that you’ve developed in prospect presentations to win new business.
Creating compelling stories that are able to engage, enthuse and impel various audiences to clear shared action.
Lead conceptualization of media activations within new business pitches
Join and participate in new business intro calls, Q&A sessions, working sessions, pitch presentations, & more client-facing activities
Reviewing, analyzing and helping teams to align brand experiences to marketing plans and drive measurable results.
Lead or participate in project post-mortems; capture key learnings and develop case studies as appropriate.
Create exhilaration sessions, testing roadmaps and agendas to guide internal product innovation.
Assess our new business pitch decks, how can they be better, where are their gaps in story telling?
This role would sit within our new business team, but will get exposure to every team in the business and internationally.
The successful candidate in this role Senior Media Strategist (Sales) will report to the New Business Director and work closely with Croud’s senior leadership across Strategy & Planning, Biddable Media, Measurement, and Client Leadership in the US.
OBJECTIVES
Defines high level strategy for pitches
Leads deck creation alongside internal teams and designers to deliver the final product on time
Support development of strategic approach by delivering channel ideas and providing the link to reality of historical performance and in-market opportunities
Works with chosen pitch team on delivering a cohesive story, bringing together market research and audience, account audits and internal product.
Be an ambassador in the development of new products, insights, audience segmentation and cultural analysis that will build a stronger pitch story
Identifies key target insights based on client brief necessary for formulating strategic recommendations, and ensures alignment into broader long-term goals
Quickly develops an understanding of the prospects business and competitive landscape
Demonstrate an intimate, and strategic, understanding of how consumers interact with channels and technology, while championing across internal agency teams
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Essential:
Demonstrable in-depth experience from media or digital planning backgrounds, or who currently works in a strategy or paid media related role.
Experience working with different flavors of strategy (brand, data); and the ability to lead successful client decks
Experience of campaign planning that has driven demonstrable results for clients.
Expected to understand all media, including digital, social and traditional, demonstrating advanced knowledge in all areas.
Extensive experience of presenting to clients and ’selling-in’ ideas, and of working closely with senior stakeholders to understand their business objectives.
Great communication and presentation skills, with good attention to detail.
Confidence and passion in presenting, pitching, and preparing proposals.
Be an ambassador in the development of new insights, audience segmentation and cultural analysis that will build clients’ businesses.
The desire to represent Croud at industry events, public speaking and thought leadership.
Desirable:
Hands-on experience of key digital marketing platforms is preferred. These include (but are not limited to) Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, DV360, trade desk and more
Hands-on experience of industry planning & insight tools is a nice-to-have. These include (but are not limited to) TGI, GlobalWebIndex, SimilarWeb
Represent Croud at industry events, public speaking and thought leadership.

COMPENSATION
Salary Range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 per year. This role is also commission based and is evaluated on the closing of new business.
Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on; among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
Standard hours are from 9.00am to 5.30pm, there’s flexibility if agreed in advance with your line managers (it may also be necessary on occasions to work outside of these hours).
