Group Financial Accounting Manager

The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for the end-to-end financial operations across all entities within the Group (across the UK, USA and Australia). They will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to support the effective financial control of the business, provide financial information to senior stakeholders and oversee the production and issuing of the monthly accounts.

This role opening comes at an exciting time for Croud with the finance team growing to support the needs of a rapidly expanding business, energised and growing at a pace having sold a minority stake to private-equity group LDC in November 2019. 

The successful candidate must be big 6 ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with a minimum of two years post qualified experience.


  • Facilitate and manage the month-end close process by keeping team priorities on track and assisting staff when necessary.
  • Responsibility for the timely and accurate performance of monthly account reconciliations for key areas including revenue, payroll, media spend and capital expenditure.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements for internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare reporting required to fulfil weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements to LDC.
  • Involvement in financial and tax audits as well as other regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller with the improvement of financial processes and controls and several ongoing projects to improve procurement and client contracting processes.
  • Systems - Finance team lead working with the internal technology team to ensure robustness of financial controls in relation to our proprietary technology.
  • Day-to-day and team management - Manage, grow and coach the Management Accountant, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Manager and support them with:
  1. Treasury: oversee the preparation of a weekly rolling cash flow statement with actuals and forecast; review bank reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis;
  2. Revenue: ownership of the revenue recognition process including sales invoice approval;
  3. Purchase Ledger: review and approve purchase invoices, review and approve media spend invoices employee expense claims, all Croudie invoices and payroll;
  4. VAT and Sales Taxes: oversee preparation and filing of UK quarterly VAT returns for three legal entities; and quarterly preparation of the Australian Sales Tax filings.
  • Payroll - Work closely with HR and the Payroll Manager to maintain employee data and deliver monthly payroll on time working with the outsourced payroll solution.
  • Lead on all work streams for the roll out of financial processes and accounting required for new entities within the Group.


  • Big 6 ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with min two years post qualified experience - this is essential.
  • Experience working in industry and/or with PE backed businesses would be preferred but not essential.  
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, policies and processes with the ability of identifying potential risks and  issues in advance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capability of persuading, influencing and negotiating with others.
  • Confident with senior stakeholders, both financial and non-financial, when assisting with decision-making.
  • Committed, passionate and able to use initiative to drive the business forward.
  • Highly organised with the ability to re-prioritise workload depending on urgency.

Standard hours are from 9.00am to 5.30pm, there’s flexibility if agreed in advance with your line managers (it may also be necessary on occasions to work outside of these hours).
